Professional Registration
Healthcare professionals must be registered with the appropriate Irish regulatory body. Depending on your profession, this may include CORU, NMBI, IMC, PSI, or the IDC. Please refer to: Registration Pathways | HealthPath Ireland.
International Applicants
If you are a non-EU/EEA/Swiss applicant, the type of employment permit you may qualify for depends on factors such as the profession/occupation, salary, employer. For example, some roles may qualify for a Critical Skills Employment Permit, while others may fall under the General Employment Permit or may not be eligible for a permit.
For roles requiring a General Employment Permit, employers may generally need to demonstrate that they have made reasonable efforts to recruit from the Irish/EU/EEA labour market, including compliance with the applicable Labour Market Needs Test, before employing an eligible non-EEA candidate. Not every employer or vacancy will be able to support an employment permit.
